133rd China Import and Export Fair Took Place
Recently on April 16, the 133rd China Import and Export Fair ("Canton Fair" or "the Fair") took place. A day before the opening ceremony of the 133rd China Import and Export Fair and the 2nd Pearl River International Trade Forum, He Lifeng, a member of the 20th CPC Central Committee Political Bureau and Vice Premier of China, conveyed a video speech and declared the opening.
Remarking on the ceremony, He Lifeng stated, “President Xi Jinping has frequently proposed the demands for creating a trade powerhouse, indicating the instructions for the development of trade.”
“The 133rd Canton Fair is taking place offline for the first time since the beginning of the outbreak showing China’s obligation to profit on its comparative advantages and effectively taking part in the global division of labor, which will not only aid its own growth but also benefit the world. The fair will focus on advancing high-quality development and effectively spreading imports in accordance with the trend of consumption upgrades. At the same time, the 133rd Canton Fair will aid industrial transformation and advancing, speed up the coordinated development of trade in goods & services, strongly support the revolution of foreign trade business models, and keep improving the linkage impact of the two resources in the domestic and global markets. ” He added in the speech.
At the opening ceremony, spokespersons of foreign guests, including Jennifer Patton, Sourcing Director at Coppel SA de CV, John L. Garrison, Jr., the Chairman of the Board of Terex Corporation, and Mr. Neha Kumar, Marketing and Brand Manager of Lulu Group International in UAE, delivered speeches.

The 133rd Canton Fair is the biggest ever in terms of overall exhibition area and the number of exhibitors. In the offline ceremony, around 35,000 firms will participate in the exhibition, buyers from 226 nations and regions will sign up to join, and 47 industrial and commercial companies from across the world will coordinate delegations to join. This year’s Canton Fair will feature a new exhibition space, a special area, and around 5,00,000 green and low-carbon products.
