China-Africa Trade increased 7.4% in the initial seven months of the year and is expected to grow further this year

China has served as Africa's greatest commercial partner for 14 years in a row, and trade between the two countries has maintained a high growth pace in the initial seven months of this year, based on China Customs.

According to official data, China's trade with Africa would increase 14.8 percent year on year to $282 billion in 2022, while it increased 7.4 percent year on year to 1.14 trillion yuan in the first seven months of this year.

According to China Customs, the overall trade index between Africa and China reached 990.55 the previous year, showing a strong growth rate.

South Africa is China's most important commercial partner among African economies, representing 19.9% of total commerce with the continent in the first seven months of 2023, which totaled 226.15 billion yuan.

Over the first seven months of the year, Angola and Nigeria were China's next and third largest commercial partners on the continent, respectively.

China is Africa's greatest export market. In the last seven months, the country purchased 426.65 billion yuan in African goods, mainly crude oil, iron ore, and copper. During the same year, agricultural product imports climbed by 20% to 23.66 billion yuan, such as imported aquatic goods and wine.
